If I recall, it was a limited time promotion to get the BMP for "free" if you made a purchase in the online store. I dont recall it specifically saying the BMP was limited time in its availability making it inaccessible through other possible future means, including its being sold separately in the online store. I may be wrong, but that was always the way I interpreted it.
If they do sell it online in the store, then I'll be looking for some of those little added things, such as the stylist, given now they'll have a bit of extra revenue.

I would sign this, only for the people that TRULY were not able to buy anything via the online store. And to those of you, I am sorry.
Unfortunately, a good part of those that want it to be sold seperately are those that want everything their own way (the ones that, back then, CHOSE to turn down the BMP offer because they wanted the boxed version of GW:EN, etc. And to those I say sorry, tough luck. It was your choice to turn down the promotion.
So, unfortunately,

My point is simply they never said there wouldnt be other ways to get the BMP after the promotion was done, so making an argument such as "you chose not to buy something from the online store, so tough" is a bit negative and desiring of exclusivity. It was quite easy to assume based on the way Anet worded that promotion that it would be for sale in the online store shortly after the promotion ended, if not right after. I read it that way, but still chose to get GWEN online anyway so I'd not have to purchase the BMP later as I was getting GWEN. I could be wrong - they really could have intended it to be a one-time thing.
I agree with you though - for those that had no payment options available to them, I do wish Anet would sort that out. Allowing them to get it through another payment means online after the fact likely also means Anet will make it available again to purchase separately for those who missed out the first time.

But not until 6+ months after it goes live for the first wave of players that got it as a "bonus". That way they won't feel as "cheated" since they got a head start on the content and probably won't care as much after all that time. (Less whining ftw)
The players that didn't make the deadline can have sloppy seconds. keke
(p.s. I didn't get the BMP nor do I wish to, even if it was $5)

Yea actually that might be fair... Besides im not sure why anyone is complaining right now. No one really knows how long or what we will do there besides the spoilers they gave us. Granted the new items are enticing, but they will probably turn out to be 1k objects that anyone can get.
Trust me if its "free" its not going to be that extravagant. It will just be like adding 4 more missions to your GW account. It will take like 3 hours to complete and you get some new skins that might be available everywhere eventually.
No one should be complaining for a gift that they gave us. Its like the little kid who didn't what he wanted for Christmas and complains to his parents that he should get whatever he wants lol, its something they did to be nice! Everyone was given ample timing to buy something from the online store AND they did this around the time of GW:EN which was really easy to fulfill the requirements. ANET could have been a whole lot worse and not given us anything at all...

If you couldn't afford to buy it along with 3 character slots a month ago, how are you magically able to buy it alone for $40 now?
If you're struggling so much in life, quit trolling forums and get a second job... one that pays more than minimum wage (not sure what country you are from, but assuming US minimum wage since you reference US currency in your tirade).

And that was back on July 7th. I'd think that, that comment would be enough for those that REALLY wanted it to think "hmm, ok I should probably get it via the promotion while I can", rather then wait to find out it will no longer be available, then petition it. :/

QFT.
4 mini missions for $40- are you insane? I don't know how you define struggling to survive, but I'd define it at least in part as being unable to throw $40 bucks you need for food at 4 mini missions (what 3 or 4 hours of game? IF THAT?)
The BMP info was released in what, July? There was plenty of time between then and now to discuss/vent etc.

Everyone and their mother who hasn't already got the BMP has suggested this and it's just not a good idea. You could've got it for free and don't give me that there was no way you could get it from the online store you could get a prepaid card or a borrowed card or loads of other things. It was given as a promotion, it's purpose was to attract people to the online store to buy GW:EN (which worked on me GW:EN is that only thing i've bought in the online store). You had plenty of time to get it and you didn't so if you really want it, question is why don't you already have it?

Though I find the OP a little immature in the way s/he's expressing himself. s/he does have a point.
The Bonus Mission Pack was given away free to people who spent x amount at the online store before a certain date. The online store is only available to people who have credit cards.
By making the Bonus Mission Pack available as a paid-for add-on through other means (in-store CD pack, paid-for magazine promotion, whatever) that puts a value on the BMP. You spent your money at the online store, you got it free. You didn't spend your money at the online store, you can buy it for, what, $8.99? The cost of a character slot?
I bought GW:EN online so I'm not personally affected by this decision. But until the Bonus Mission Pack is available generally at a price, it's not free. It's a bribe.

"Currently no plans" is a rather vague statement, that could easily be interpreted as "we're not going to say anything to interfere with the offer".
Some of you guys should really stop being so smug. We haven't found out that it will no longer be available - as far as I can tell ANet have made no solid statement on the matter.

And in that case, it comes down to a choice. Whether to go with the offer and guarantee receiving the pack. Or wait, and risk NOT getting it. Vague or not, "currently no plans" kinda sticks out as a warning that maybe..."I should grab it while I can"? Those that had the means to pay, and chose not to, CHOSE not to recieve the BONUS.
-News of the pack has been out since July
-Everyone who has a credit card had a means to get it (GW:EN)
-Some of them chose to get it
-Some waited to "see what happens", or turned it down because they wanted a cardboard box more
^those people may be out of luck, as the result of the choice they made
Those that wanted it, but had absolutely NO way to get it, is a different situation, of course. And hopefully Anet will find a way to prevent that in the future.

No!
Everyone knew about the BMP since the 5th of July. If you couldn't get it in that amount of time thats not Anet's problem or our problem.

I didn't buy EOTN from the online store, quite frankly it didn't come to mind. Going into town was far more efficient for me, so i did it. Why should i spend (like what is it, $10 each?) on 2 character slots i won't even use? I'm effectively ending up paying the price of EOTN or whatever, for 4 missions. Nty. Shame really, was looking forward to this pack..

Its called a bonus mission pack for a reason and by allowing everyone to buy it, its not much of a bonus to the people who purchased from the online store.
Even if they did, you wouldn't be seeing this sold in stores and it'd be sold only in their online store. You didn't buy GWEN from their online store to get it, why would you now?

To be honest, i never knew about this promotion when GW:EN came out. I didn't know GW:EN would be in the online store, as i've never gone onto it, but it only takes 2 secs to know their own game will be on there
Maybe it's my fault, maybe i'm blind. But i read fansites like this one, i read the login screen on entry.. and i can't remember seeing anything.
Plus i don't have a credit card anyway...
It's only 4 missions, so i won't be too gutted. It is fair that it's given as a bonus to those using the online store, but getting it free as appose to paying is a bonus, imo.

Well that's July 7th and is quite a while ago. She's not going to say they have plans to release it other ways while the promotion is going on. A lot fewer people would have made the online store purchases in that case. She also only says "currently there are no plans" so her quote doesnt really pull a lot of weight. Plans change and when the promotion ends they'd move at that time to releasing it an additional way if they wished. They've also never explicitly said it will not be available through other means. All that as well as having called it a limited time promotion, not a limited mission pack, leaves the door wide open.
Doesnt affect me either way as I bought GWEN online. I'm just pointing out that Anet's made no concrete statement against its being available again that I am aware of. In a thread about alternate payment means in the online store for those overseas (PayPal) she did state they were working on those payment means but that agreements internationally took a while to sort out and they were hoping to get the issue of the BMP for those overseas addressed soon. Didnt sound at all like a "no, we wont release it again" but a rather "be patient for a little longer" kind of a reply. This was in a topic specifically addressing the BMP for those overseas and she made no comment to the effect of "sorry, but you missed out and it wont be released again." Possibly this means a BMP promotion upcoming for those overseas only, or possibly it means it will be for sale in the store for all when PayPal is sorted out. Hard to say either way.
I agree though. Anyone really wanting the BMP could have bought GWEN or something else online to ensure they had it, rather than risking anything. I'm not denying that.
